Frequently asked questions
Can I visit TIERART without a guided tour?
No, our Wild Animal Sanctuary can only be visited as part of a guided tour by our animal caretakers.
Do I have to register in advance for the regular tours on weekends and holidays?
To participate, you must book a ticket in advance via our online ticket store.
How do I get a ticket if I do not have the possibility for online booking?
In this case, please contact us by phone or e-mail. However, please note that our office is not staffed on weekends and plan your visit well in advance.
Can admission tickets also be purchased on site at the entrance?
The number of participants is limited. If the tour is fully booked, no further tickets can be purchased on site.
Is the guided tour of the bunker exhibition also suitable for children?
We recommend visiting the exhibition from 12 years, but parents can best assess their children and decide whether a visit would be interesting for them. Please note that the exhibition is about "Animals in War" and corresponding pictures and exhibits can be seen. In addition, visitors are encouraged in between to read information on display boards themselves.
Is there a possibility to buy drinks and food on site?
At the TIERART bistro "Futterstelle" there are cold and warm drinks available, as well as small snacks and ice cream.
Are you allowed to feed and pet the animals?
At TIERART there is a strict feeding ban for the welfare of our animals. Except for sheep and goats, the animals may not be petted for safety reasons.
Can dogs be brought along?
Out of consideration for our wildlife and free-roaming sheep, dogs are not allowed.
Is the site wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, our site is not wheelchair accessible. The paths are paved, but contain inclines. During the bunker tour you have to go up a staircase.
